Brazil green-lights Coca-Cola/PepsiCo collaboration

Our partner Eduardo Frade talked to the Latin Lawyer about CADE’S greenlight for the collaboration between a group of competing companies in the food and beverage market as a measure to minimize the effects of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.

“VMCA partner Eduardo Frade in São Paulo, who was formerly CADE’s General Superintendent, reiterated that no businesses are immune to antitrust oversight, even when they have received approval from the authority. So long as the parties behave according to the rules of the agreement, they will be “safe from an antitrust perspective”, he said.”
